What is COP26?
COP (Conference of the Parties) is the supreme decision-making body of an annual Global meeting (or Convention) on Climate Change.
The first COP took place in Berlin in 1995 and has met annually since then.
Many have only recently become more aware of the significance of COP, particularly it seems in this year of COP26. That may, in part, be due to climate activists like Greta Thunberg and others who have succeeded in raising the issue in our consciousness. It may also be through the undoubted targets from Governments, the associated financial commitments, and the discussions surrounding these.
In 2021, COP26 takes place in Glasgow. It is not too dramatic to say that the outcome will affect all our futures.
