SMART goals
How nice is this? Yesterday was a cracking winter’s day, blue skies, a bit of warmth, a chilled-out trail run and this to aim for and be greeted with at the end of the climb. Helen’s Tower looking it’s best in the low mid-morning sunlight.
Not that this was the end of the run, because we still had to get back down again. However, both physically and metaphorically after reaching this spot, everything seemed downhill from here on in.
That was yesterday. Today, as they say in these parts, is another day…no blue skies, no warmth, and the goal today was a faster paced run and to get back to heat and a hot coffee as soon as the run is over. And now that that’s achieved, the afternoon seems a whole lot brighter.
Whatever drives you, make sure you have specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-based goals before you start. Otherwise you may not keep going, or have the satisfaction of getting there!
