Short-term pain for long-term gain

Short-term pain for long-term gain

Remarkably, I find myself writing about running again…

Another Saturday, another Half-marathon. This time the hilly and picturesque Castleward Half-Marathon, one of the fantastic @born2runevents.

Unfortunately, when I went for a run this morning the pain in my left knee forced me to stop. After I hobbled home, got over my ‘annoyance’ and did the RICE thing, I got to thinking about what I would do now.

The only logical thing is to see a professional about it.

As I organize my trip to the physio, I know that the associated cost, and pain, will be well worth it when it gets me back running again, faster and further than before.

Thankfully businesses think this way too. The best ones all know they could be better, so they absorb the short-term cost of management consultants like Pattersons Consulting to help realize their true potential.

There were a number of things I could have written about today. The Queen’s Birthday…many happy returns Your Majesty; or this Sunday’s Virgin London Marathon #vlm2016 …and I would like to send best wishes to everyone running it, including Ivan Prue running for the @mssociety, a lot of friends from @NorthDownAC and @BallydHarriers, not forgetting @astro_timpeake and @damekellyholmes.

Or I could have written about the tragic loss this week of Victoria Wood. She once sang about coming back in another life…she lives still in all of us.
